I had a wonderful painting party at my condo today with Wendy (mom) and Nina (daughter, age 8). It was the tail end of Nina's spring break from school, so they decided a painting day with Ms. Amy would make for a fun and relaxing end to the week. It was a "paint what you want" party with the only direction being to paint something inspired by "Spring." Check out their awesome paintings!!!! It's so wonderful to be able to inspire others to create art and to watch the joy on the faces of both children and adults as they make something beautiful with their own hands and imagination!!!! I can't even begin to describe what an amazing night we had in Raleigh, NC Friday night at our Simkin art opening. I loved the hair salon / art gallery setting. It was really a great location for my first official art opening. Together, Mom and I sold 11 paintings in three hours!!! We met some really lovely folks at the opening and everyone was so nice and had such wonderful things to say about our paintings!!! Even my niece and nephew were troopers and had a great time!!! The remaining paintings will be on display at Simkin for the remainder of the month. Fingers crossed for more sales!!! I have posted a few pics of the night below. Enjoy! Mark sent me these photos of a few of the paintings already hung on the wall. They did such a great job with grouping the paintings!!! It's going to be a great show!! Amy |
